St. Pietersberg hill package
Combine a unique boat trip with a delicious lunch at the Buitengoed Slavante country house and a fascinating tour of the caves of St. Pieter. The St. Pietersberg hill is a unique part of the Limburg countryside. This package introduces you to the area and provides a fantastic outing for your entire team or family!
This programme lasting almost four hours begins with a charming boat trip upriver to the foot of the beautiful St. Pietersberg hill. The tour takes you past the historic St. Servatius bridge, the Onze Lieve Vrouwebasiliek, part of the first city wall of Maastricht (dating back to 1229), the new Céramique city district with the Bonnefantenmuseum and the Gouvernement (provincial government) building. You will disembark at the St. Pietersberg hill for a short walk up the steep hill to the beautiful location of the Buitengoed Slavante country house. This is where the tour of the hill's caves begins, accompanied by a Tourist Board guide. Depending on the time of day, a sumptuous 'Lunch Maastricht' will be served at Buitengoed Slavante either before or after the tour of the caves. You will then walk back to the landing stage for the second part of the boat trip. Just before reaching the Belgian border, the boat turns around and returns to the centre of Maastricht at the end of the programme. This is a delightful excursion in the countryside just outside Maastricht that strikes the perfect balance between activity and relaxation. In other words, this programme is all about enjoyment!
